Aziraphale, a prominent character in the television adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's novel, Good Omens, is an angel who has resided on Earth for millennia. Originally stationed as the guardian of the Eastern Gate of Eden, he gifted his flaming sword to Adam and Eve, an act of kindness that began his long, complex relationship with humanity.

Unlike many of his celestial brethren, Aziraphale has developed a deep affection for humans and their culture. He owns a bookshop in London, meticulously curating his collection of rare and valuable texts. While technically belonging to Heaven, his moral compass often points in unexpected directions, often aligning him with the forces of good on Earth, irrespective of heavenly dictates.

His closest companion is the demon Crowley, with whom he shares a surprisingly amicable, if somewhat antagonistic, friendship. Together, they often find themselves working to prevent the Apocalypse, motivated by a shared desire to maintain the comfortable lives they've cultivated on Earth. Aziraphale's essential nature is one of unwavering kindness and a gentle disposition, though he can be surprisingly stubborn when his principles are challenged. He is portrayed as somewhat naive but deeply caring.
